As i mentioned in my previous post, Bangladesh should have batted first. They lost the advantage of batting first on home pitch amidst home crowd. Had they cashed on this opportunity, things would have been different.

India batted superbly against mediocre pace and spin attack. There was no opposition at all. Rubel looked average and none of the spinners looked penetrating. In fact, the approach of Bangladesh team was very defensive.

Rather than bowling with caution ,they should have flighted the ball more to lure the batsmen into making mistakes. Maybe the think tank had not done their homework well.As of now,the match seems out of the reach of Bangladesh.

What should Bangladesh do ? The batting order and strategy needs to be amended. The captain must set an example by scoring a ton. Miracles do happen. Hope for another one today.

Here are a few tips if they wish to put up a good fight and give a scare to the Indians:-

1. The openers must go all out for 5 overs, set their eyes in and flog the bowlers.

2.Thereafter,go for lofted shots against pacers and spinners to cause panic in Indian camp.

3. Keyes to drop down at number 4 spot.

4. Shakib ( best all rounder in the world) to promote himself in batting order and play with grit and determination.

5. Avoid getting run out in a bid to score quick runs.

6. Each player must remain focused and be mentally strong to stay at the crease.

7. Make use of power plays to hit out all over.

Remember, no match is won till the last ball is  bowed. May be we are in for yet another surprise today.

Let us list out strengths and weakness of both India and Bangladesh.

INDIA

Strengths-Strong opening and middle order batting line up (including match winners), best batsman in the world ( Tendulkar), single handed match winner (Yusuf Pathan), mix of youth and experience, well balanced team, variety in bowling, dynamic captain leading from the front, tail enders can swing the bat, improved fielding, home crowd support in few matches,

Weaknesses-Out of form players (including captain), injury prone team (fitness doubtful), mediocre pace attack, non consistent performance,

BANGLADESH

Strengths- Recent successes against New Zealand (4-0 series win), Zimbabwe (3-1 series win), home crowd support ( all group matches in BanglaDesh), in form balanced team combining well, high confidence, young energetic players ( oldest player 28 years), technically correct batting style, best all rounder of the world (Shakib),

Weaknesses- Players lack international exposure and experience, no real pace attack, no match winners,

MY ASSESSMENT

It will be a revenge match for India ( having lost to opponents in last world cup). If India can pile up a huge score say, around 300 after winning the toss ( big guns firing), it will be difficult for Bangladesh to catch up ( provided India field well). If Bangladesh wins the toss, with mediocre batting line up and experienced Indian spinners, they can score not more than 22o runs. That should be an easy target for India provided they tackle the left arm spinner A. Razzak and pacer Hossain well.

An interesting encounter in the offing. Do not expect a cliff hanger. Easy win for the winning team. Fielding lapses may prove costly and decide shift of match balance.

MY PREDICTIONS

India will win but Bangladesh have an outside chance if India bat poorly
