The young lass who promised to bare for Team India last year has now shifted her focus from the cricket to Bollywood. May be, the discouraging performance of the team in Australia is not luring her to bare all.

Well well, she never bared anything even after several promises during last year except, releasing few of her so called steamy videos (which were as cold as ice).

Where was Poonam Pandey when Porn Queen Sunny Leone was hitting the headlines while being part of the Bigg Boss house? Was she learning her lessons well or waiting for the right opportunity to come into limelight? We have no answers for that.

Poonam must do something silly and extra ordinary time and again. Soon after Indian Premier joined twitter, she welcomed him like this ” i heard that @PMO India is on Twitter- Does he know (sic) that @Poonam Pandey is on Twitter too…so a welcoming pic “. She tweeted a semi clad photo of hers.

Is it not a shameful gesture? How dare a fame hungry lass welcome a Prime Minister of the biggest democracy in the world in such a disrespectful and sarcastic manner? Will anyone take any action against her for making a mockery of an event where a leader takes on to tweeting?

Tweeting is not a joke. It is not all fun. Tweeting is a serious business and should be handled seriously.

Poonam, wake up…have some respect for the PM and grow up under proper guidance else, you may be blown away with the winds of time….no where to be seen (therefore, anchor yourself well).

Unfortunately, for India, Hindi is the only language available but I’m sure Google scientists will add more languages.

On the landing page they have specially written :

If you are at office, and can not download songs, then Google Music is your answer. Hit the song you want to listen and you will be shown a page with the song details with a play icon next to it. To my surprise, buffering was pretty good. Most of the Indian Hindi songs are played on in.com

Google Music will come as a challenge to all the online music websites for one simple reason ~ NO ADVERTISEMENT. Let’s call this as the start of Online music war !

Visit Google Music now!

The latest release of Ubuntu brings the best open source technologies together on one platform, with the benefit of free updates for 18 months. Constant improvements, feature additions and extended machine and network support explain why Ubuntu wins more converts with every release.

Features :

Productivity tools: Ubuntu supports all of your favourite web-based mail programs like Yahoo(TM) or Gmail (TM). For the office, Evolution provides all the calendering, contacts and office email you need. Pidgin IM also puts you in instant touch with colleagues and integrates with your personal IM services simply and easily.

Browsing: Includes Mozilla’s Firefox 3 as the default browser. Faster, safer and themed browsing for users.

Photos: Upload from your camera or phone to F-Spot and manage, tag, share and sort your photos and upload easily to your favourite social networking sites.

Music and video: Plug in your PSP, iPod, MP3 player; share playlists with your friends; buy in online music stores; visit your favourite sites like Last.fm, stream more live radio and content from the BBC and plug in more devices with uPnP (universal Plug and Play)

Office applications: Word processing, spreadsheets and presentations can all be delivered through OpenOffice.org 3.0 featuring in this release of Ubuntu for the first time. And, they completely integrate with the proprietary office applications out there. The big difference is that they are free.

Accessibility: At the core of the Ubuntu philosophy is the belief that computing is for everyone and access should be free and complete whatever your economic or physical circumstances. Ubuntu is one of the most accessible desktop operating systems around.

Google has again proved that they are the number one when it comes to online advertisement. It now plans to improve ads by making a better connection between advertisers and users.

This is what Google announced in its official blog.

“At Google, we believe that ads are a valuable source of information — one that can connect people to the advertisers offering products, services and ideas that interest them. By making ads more relevant, and improving the connection between advertisers and our users, we can create more value for everyone. Users get more useful ads, and these more relevant ads generate higher returns for advertisers and publishers. Advertising is the lifeblood of the digital economy: it helps support the content and services we all enjoy for free online today, including much of our news, search, email, video and social networks.

That’s why Google has worked hard to create technology that makes the advertising on our own sites, and those of our partners, as relevant as possible. To date, we have shown ads based mainly on what your interests are at a specific moment. So if you search for [digital camera] on Google, you’ll get ads related to digital cameras. If you are visiting the website of one of our AdSense partners, you would see ads based on the content of the page. For example, if you’re reading a sports page on a newspaper website, we might show ads for running shoes. Or we can show ads for home maintenance services alongside a YouTube video instructing you on how to perform a simple repair. There are some situations, however, where a keyword or the content of a web page simply doesn’t give us enough information to serve highly relevant ads. “……Source: Google Official Blog

Google today released it beta version online advertisement on it YouTube as well as on its partner sites, which will use additional information from the websites visited by people. It will start placing cookies on user’s browsers to collect information about their interests whenever they visit websites that show AdSense contextual ads. Ads targeted to those interest to the same user as he browses the other websites that also have Adsense will be presented.

“We think we can make online advertising even more relevant and useful by using additional information about the websites people visit. Today we are launching “interest-based” advertising as a beta test on our partner sites and on YouTube. These ads will associate categories of interest — say sports, gardening, cars, pets — with your browser, based on the types of sites you visit and the pages you view. We may then use those interest categories to show you more relevant text and display ads.

We believe there is real value to seeing ads about the things that interest you. If, for example, you love adventure travel and therefore visit adventure travel sites, Google could show you more ads for activities like hiking trips to Patagonia or African safaris. While interest-based advertising can infer your interest in adventure travel from the websites you visit, you can also choose your favorite categories, or tell us which categories you don’t want to see ads for. Interest-based advertising also helps advertisers tailor ads for you based on your previous interactions with them, such as visits to their websites. So if you visit an online sports store, you may later be shown ads on other websites offering you a discount on running shoes during that store’s upcoming sale.”

Does ” interest-based” ads intrude user’s privacy?

Google Answers…..

“This kind of tailored advertising does raise questions about user choice and privacy — questions the whole online ad industry has a responsibility to answer. Many companies already provide interest-based advertising and they address these issues in different ways. For our part, we’re launching interest-based advertising with three important features that demonstrate our commitment to transparency and user choice.

* Transparency – We already clearly label most of the ads provided by Google on the AdSense partner network and on YouTube. You can click on the labels to get more information about how we serve ads, and the information we use to show you ads. This year we will expand the range of ad formats and

Unsurprisingly, they also tend to live much of their life on the Internet, and use more than one device to get there.

That’s according to a new study by Netpop Research, entitled Media Shifts to Social 2009. The study examines people engaged in what the report defines as one-to-many social media — uploading photos, blogging, tweeting, file sharing, and so on.

The Netpop report is based on a survey of 4384 broadband users, age 13 and up, conducted in September and October of last year. It purports to provide marketing trend insights on “the new consumer media habits shaping businesses today.”

The study breaks down broadband users by how much they contribute to these social sites. Heavy contributors, who on average connect with nearly 250 people a week on a one-to-many basis, make up seven percent of the whole. They are relatively young, with an average age of 33. They’re evenly split between men and women. (Surprisingly, women outnumber men among medium and light contributors, but men outnumber women amongst old-fashioned non-contributors.) People making between US$50,000 and $75,000 tend to contribute less than those richer or poorer than themselves, according to Netpop’s data.

Heavy contributors tend to be what Netpop Research defines as Online Insiders, who “do more of everything there is to do online” and “see themselves essentially ‘living online.’” They’re more likely to use multiple devices to access the Internet, including smartphones and publicly-accessible computers. They like to blog, and tend to post content that relates to their interests and reflects their opinions.

The report is available for $500.

Surprisingly, and unlike many other social networks, the average Tweeter is 31. By comparison, MySpace has an average age of 27; Facebook is a little younger at 26; while LinkedIn is the social network of choice for those in their 40s. In the tweetosphere, 25- to 34-year-olds hold a slight majority over 19- to 24-year-olds by about 1 percent. With age comes money in our society, and that litle tidbit of truthiness is reflected among tweeters as well. According to PIAP, 17 percent of adult Internet users who make $30,000 or less also tweet, while only 10 percent of households making $75,000 or more broadcast their status into cyberspace. This is not particularly suprising as the memo points out, since the younger generation typically earns less money than older folks.

Tweeters are also more ethnically diverse and more likely to live in a city. Neither statistic is suprising as American youths are more ethnically diverse than older Americans. Twitter most likely appeals more to those in the urban jungle because city social lives are typically more active and less centralized than in rural areas…..Source
