Delhi was to witness the greatest ever rock concert by the greatest rock star, 51 years old, Canadian born Bryan Adams today ie 15 Feb 2011. But, that was not to happen.

The police declined to give clearance to the concert slated to be held at NSIC Stadium at Okhla. Thus, millions of fans have been disappointed over cancellation which points towards poor coordination between the organisers, Delhi police and the fire brigade department.

The reasons for cancellation, as given out in media are-

Location unsafe due to overwhelming response.

Rains since last night.

10,00 passes sold against stadium capacity of 6000.

Whatever the reasons, the end result has been a BIG disappointment for fans. The whole issue could have been handled in a better manner with proper coordination between all the agencies involved namely- organisers and promoters of event, Delhi police, fire brigade department and state government.

The cancellation of the concert reflects poorly on the organising abilities of the administrative body. It’s a shame that after the successful conduct of Commonwealth Games, one had to witness failure in conducting such a small event.

The rock star has already performed in Mumbai and Bangaluru and was to perform in Hyderabad on 16 Feb followed by performances in Dhaka and Kathmandu.

Why could the concert not be held even if it rained? Why were the passes sold beyond capacity?

All these need to be answered. But who will hold whom responsible for this shoddy act? God only knows?

The official release date for Guitar Hero: Metallica has been announced. The game will launch on March 29 in North America and will release in other regions later. So, start preparing your fingers for the inevitable calluses and start pumping yourself up with enery drinks, because Guitar Hero: Metallica is going to be one hell of a challenge. With twenty eight Metallica tracks along with some guest artists, it’s not a game for lightweights. No, you’ll need to be a serious fake musician if you want to hang with the big boys. What you do with your fake groupies, well, that’s up to you….

There is not much differences between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. The Wii version is naturally, less visually appealing, but it does not lack any features.

Social networking websites now becomes a reason for dumping, you hear people losing jobs offers over social networking websites, but to lose Jennifer Aniston over twitter is something you just can’t imagine……

A source claims that Jennifer Aniston, 40, dumped John Mayer, 31, because he spent way to much time on Twitter. Yes,you read it right. Not because of cheating or anything, but because of Twitter addiction.

Jennifer & John started dating around April 2008, but have broken up several times. Last month at the Academy Awards they seemed pretty lovey-dovey. Perhaps Aniston was trying to show up Brangelina?

Source said:

“John suddenly stopped calling her or returning her emails and when she would finally catch up with him, he’d say: ‘I’ve been so busy with work. I’m sorry I haven’t had time to call you back.

“Jen was fuming. There he was, telling her he didn’t have time for her and yet his page was filled with Twitter updates.

“Every few hours, sometimes minutes, he’d update with some stupid line. And in her mind, she was like ‘He has time for all this Twittering, but he can’t send me a text, an email, make a call?’.”

Te real problem to look here is why does Aniston have so much trouble with her love life? She’s gorgeous, has an incredible body, is gorgeous(heheh), and you have to know she’s ready to settle down. She wants kids! The age difference here might have been an issue, but who knows? Who knows if this Twitter story is even real?

In the video below, John tries to explain or umm…maybe defend to whats hit him because of Tweeter :

Michael Jackson has confirmed his July residency at London’s O2 arena during a press conference at the venue, describing it as the “final curtain call.”

Hundreds of screaming fans turned up for the announcement, as well as members of the media, after promoters AEG Live posted a message on the 23,000-capacity venue’s Web site inviting people to attend.

“Thank you all… this is it,” said Jackson, who appeared an hour and a half late at 5.30pm. “I just wanted to say, these will be my final show performances in London. When I say this is it, it really means this is it. I’ll be performing the songs my fans want to hear. This is it, this is really it, this is the final curtain call.”

He added: “I’ll see you in July and… I love you. I really do, you have to know that, from the bottom of my heart. This is it and see you in July.”

The first date is July 8 and tickets go on sale March 13. Tickets are priced £50 ($70) to £75 ($106). Full details will be announced later.
Posters advertising 10 shows, also stating ‘This is it,’ appeared on the London Underground before the announcement.

The statement issued announcing the residency says that Jackson’s O2 shows will be “history in the making as the King of Pop Michael Jackson performs in London for the last time.”

U2, “No Line On The Horizon,” (Interscope Records)

On the title track of U2′s latest album, “No Line On The Horizon,” frontman Bono sings “Every night I have the same dream/I’m hatching some plot, scheming some scheme.”

The Irish rockers’ 12th studio album reflects some heavy scheming on the part of the band, and its longtime producers, to mine wider sonic territory that the band has explored since the 1990s.

The result is an album that feels more compelling in sound and less strident in message than U2′s previous two efforts this decade, which offered some bright spots but seemed crafted with a U2-by-the-numbers approach.

The achievement of “No Line” is due to the handiwork of U2′s recording studio midwives: Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois and Steve Lillywhite, who have had a hand in shaping nearly every U2 album.

On “No Line …,” Eno and Lanois play a more hands-on role, meriting the duo co-songwriting credits with Bono and the rest of U2 _ guitarist The Edge, bassist Adam Clayton and drummer Larry Mullen Jr. _ on all but four of the album’s 11 tracks.

“No Line … ” falls short of the wholesale reinvention that U2 underwent on 1991′s “Achtung Baby,” but in its best moments showcases a refreshing return to musical exploration for a band that released its debut album 29 years ago.

The driving-but-disjointed leadoff single, “Get On Your Boots,” has underwhelmed some U2 followers, but there is reassurance _ the track is not representative of the album.

One standout track is “Magnificent.” It begins with a brooding guitar line then weaves into a dance beat backed over layered keyboards and explodes into shimmering, The Edge-trademark guitar fireworks. Bono raises it up a notch, wailing “Only love/Only love can leave such a mark/But only love/Only love can heal such a scar.”

The track’s anthemic build and release is no less effective than the band’s signature stadium-pleaser “Where The Streets Have No Name.” But one stretch of lyrics where Bono declares he was “born to sing for you/I didn’t have a choice but to lift you up,” will do little to allay critics who view the singer as a self-appointed savior-megalomaniac.

Another gem is “Moment of Surrender,” a midtempo ballad that clocks in at longer than 7 minutes. With a rolling bassline and church organ sound as a backdrop, Bono delivers a soulful, passionate vocal as he sings “We set ourselves on fire/Oh God, do not deny her/It’s not if I believe in love/But if love believes in me.”

Thematically, “No Line …” finds Bono the lyricist exploring familiar U2 fare: love, hope, God and war, but less directly.

On the surreal rocker “Unknown Caller,” which opens with the birdsong heard in the open-air space in Fez, Morocco, where it was recorded, Bono sings of a man lost “between the midnight and the dawning/In a place of no consequence of company,” and then a sing-along chorus implores him to “Escape yourself and gravity … Force quit and move to trash” _ a nod to Mac computer users?

The message is more straightforward on “I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight,” which despite its cumbersome title has U2 making their most unabashed pop song yet.

Just when you think you’ve got a handle on “No Line …,” U2 channels its heretofore unseen funky side with “Stand Up Comedy.” The song works overall, but stumbles on some awkward rhyming when Bono sings “Stand up to rock stars/Napoleon is in high heels/Josephine be careful of small men with big ideas.”

More satisfying is the album’s pivot point, the ambient, electro-rocker “Fez-Being Born.”

U2 left the most compelling songs on “No Line … ” on the latter half of the album: The fragile, folk song like “White As Snow,” and the cinematic, spare closer, “Cedars Of Lebanon.” The song features a half-spoken vocal by Bono delivered from the viewpoint of a war correspondent.

CHECK THIS TRACK OUT: “Breathe,” melds some machine gun-vocal by Bono and guitar power chords to create one of the most memorable anthems to come out of the U2 factory.
