Topping the charts by way of popularity is anybody’s wish. The two most popular celebrities of 2011 were Poonam Pandey and Sunny Leone.

Both shot into limelight because of being linked to a single factor-Nudity.

Poonam is trying to be famous in Hollywood whereas, Sunny is already in the galleries of Bollywood.

Poonam Pandey

She vowed to go nude in case India won the Cricket World Cup. Team India won the cup but Poonam ditched all. Many months later, she came into limelight for her so called steamy videos – “My Bathing Secrets” and “My Bedroom Secrets“. Surprisingly, both these videos failed to increase her fan following.

She went into hiding when Sunny Leone was in Bigg Boss house. No one knows the reasons for her hibernation.

Paris Hilton is impressed with her and she follows her on Twitter. It is in the news that one mobile gaming company of USA is planning to make a POKER game on her for IOS and ANDROID mobile users. Recently, she was in the news for welcoming Indian premier on twitter.

Sunny Leone

World famous porn queen made it big ever since she entered Bigg Boss reality show. Viewers expected some fireworks from her but barring few dances in the relaity show, she disappointed everyone with her poor performance . She was the most sought after female on Google leaving popular Indian actresses like Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra.

The rumors of her making her debut in Mahesh Bhatt starer Jism 2 faded out very soon. No one knows whether she will be signed for Murder3 or not.

She has been modeling in Indian dresses too. There are many producers who have lined up to sign Sunny for their future productions.

Let us see if both these sexy females remain at the top spot in the year 2012

The young lass who promised to bare for Team India last year has now shifted her focus from the cricket to Bollywood. May be, the discouraging performance of the team in Australia is not luring her to bare all.

Well well, she never bared anything even after several promises during last year except, releasing few of her so called steamy videos (which were as cold as ice).

Where was Poonam Pandey when Porn Queen Sunny Leone was hitting the headlines while being part of the Bigg Boss house? Was she learning her lessons well or waiting for the right opportunity to come into limelight? We have no answers for that.

Poonam must do something silly and extra ordinary time and again. Soon after Indian Premier joined twitter, she welcomed him like this ” i heard that @PMO India is on Twitter- Does he know (sic) that @Poonam Pandey is on Twitter too…so a welcoming pic “. She tweeted a semi clad photo of hers.

Is it not a shameful gesture? How dare a fame hungry lass welcome a Prime Minister of the biggest democracy in the world in such a disrespectful and sarcastic manner? Will anyone take any action against her for making a mockery of an event where a leader takes on to tweeting?

Tweeting is not a joke. It is not all fun. Tweeting is a serious business and should be handled seriously.

Recently, PM Manmohan Singh also joined the world of twitters.

A total of six tweets were sent out- Three on National bravery awards, one holding talks with Foreign Minister of Myanmar and with NCC cadets.

Another tweet was sent announcing that PM of Thailand would be the Chief Guest for the Republic Day Parade.

His twitter account is @PMOIndia, with around 32,000 followers as on 28th Jan 2012.

However, his tweeting is being considered as a one way traffic. He has not been following anyone. Is it not surprising?

All feel that a PM should try and feel the pulse of the people and reply to those giving suggestions/seeking replies from him on various issues.

I wish the PM all the very best in tweeting.

The fusion of technology and human brain was best exhibited by few students during All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination conducted at All India Institute of Medical Studies (AIIMS), New Delhi on Sunday, 08 Jan.

The two students taking the exam had tied their mobile phones to their wrists nicely covered by the sleeves of their shirt. The question papers were scanned by the mobiles and the images were then transmitted to a control room and downloaded.

The papers were solved by the experts who dictated answers to six candidates who had Bluetooth devices stitched near the collars and were using small earphones as well to avoid detection.

Where did they falter? What went wrong? That is yet to be known.

Is there a better way of cheating in such exams? Keep thinking.

They were unlucky to get caught. Many like them may have got away with such attempts in other exams or will try to repeat the same style of cheating elsewhere, and get away with it.

It was indeed, a classic example of using Technology in the best possible manner. I wonder if this example will pave the way for small time cheaters in other exams all over the country. Only strict vigil by invigilators with latest devices can check such attempts.

One can imagine the level immense preparations the gang must have made before putting their plan to action.

Here is some food for thought. Would it not be wise to reduce the weightage of written exams and lay more emphasis on viva and interviews conducted by an experts panel?

The world is full of copycats. This is a proven statement. Go Green movement started in the world with the aim of reducing pollution in the atmosphere so that life on earth can be longer lasting.

The governments all over the world have enunciated laws and laid down policies to ensure reduction of pollution and plantation of trees in an organized manner in wastelands and places away from the cities.

But in India, everyone has gone crazy (right from state governments to politicians to social workers to activists to schools) and have joined the bandwagon to plant trees in cities and towns. The thought is good but the implementation would convert the living areas into jungles. I make this statement after observing the effects of earlier tree plantations carried out as part of yearly Van Mahotsav and drives launched by governments to beautify the areas.

Haphazard tree plantation (now over grown) along each and every road (both sides) under the electric wires and cables in all towns and cities are already a cause of electricity failures. The roads get dirty due to shedding of leaves. The trees in gardens are hugging each other. The horticulture department never bothers about the correct distance between trees and plants.

The schools are cluttered with trees leaving no space for play fields. The city parks look like jungles with no flowers at all. During morning walks, one gets a feeling of walking in a cave of trees hugging each other. With so many trees already planted , where is the place for more trees to be planted? In the mood of Go Green, people have started planting trees in any vacant areas they notice without realizing the effects when the trees will grow.

The world needs to have a re look at the whole approach of saving tress and restoring greenery. The governments should focus on the forests. The forest department must plant more trees in forests and simultaneously, curb the practice of felling trees. Why do we need to cut trees-its mainly for fuel and furniture. Why cant we do away with wooden furniture and start using furniture of iron or any substitute metal/ material. The use of wood in houses can be reduced.

All such measures will result in restoring greenery at a faster rate than what is intended now by planting trees. We Indians act kiddish at times and join the rat race to come in limelight and gain popularity. The ill planned Go Green movement is a perfect example of making a mockery of a serious issue.
